Warren Buffett’s Ten Secrets of Success

Warren Buffett’s Ten Secrets of Success

I’m not 100% sure if these tips are “officially” from Warren Buffett, but this set of advice is widely attributed to him, and there are plaques in various public places that list these as his ten basic principles of success.  They seem to dovetail with how he has run his business life, so here goes:
1. Reinvest Your Profits: When you first make money in the stock market, you may be tempted to spend it. Don’t. Instead, reinvest the profits. Warren Buffett learned this early on. In high school, he and a pal bought a pinball machine to pun in a barbershop. With the money they earned, they bought more machines until they had eight in different shops. When the friends sold the venture, Warren Buffett used the proceeds to buy stocks and to start another small business. By age 26, he’d amassed $174,000 — or $1.4 million in today’s money. Even a small sum can turn into great wealth.

2. Be Willing To Be Different: Don’t base your decisions upon what everyone is saying or doing. When Warren Buffett began managing money in 1956 with $100,000 cobbled together from a handful of investors, he was dubbed an oddball. He worked in Omaha, not Wall Street, and he refused to tell his parents where he was putting their money. People predicted that he’d fail, but when he closed his partnership 14 years later, it was worth more than $100 million. Instead of following the crowd, he looked for undervalued investments and ended up vastly beating the market average every single year. To Warren Buffett, the average is just that — what everybody else is doing. to be above average, you need to measure yourself by what he calls the Inner Scorecard, judging yourself by your own standards and not the world’s.

3. Never Suck Your Thumb: Gather in advance any information you need to make a decision, and ask a friend or relative to make sure that you stick to a deadline. Warren Buffett prides himself on swiftly making up his mind and acting on it. He calls any unnecessary sitting and thinking “thumb sucking.” When people offer him a business or an investment, he says, “I won’t talk unless they bring me a price.” He gives them an answer on the spot.

4. Spell Out The Deal Before You Start: Your bargaining leverage is always greatest before you begin a job — that’s when you have something to offer that the other party wants. Warren Buffett learned this lesson the hard way as a kid, when his grandfather Ernest hired him and a friend to dig out the family grocery store after a blizzard. The boys spent five hours shoveling until they could barely straighten their frozen hands. Afterward, his grandfather gave the pair less than 90 cents to split. Warren Buffett was horrified that he performed such backbreaking work only to earn pennies an hour. Always nail down the specifics of a deal in advance — even with your friends and relatives.

5. Watch Small Expenses: Warren Buffett invests in businesses run by managers who obsess over the tiniest costs. He one acquired a company whose owner counted the sheets in rolls of 500-sheet toilet paper to see if he was being cheated (he was). He also admired a friend who painted only on the side of his office building that faced the road. Exercising vigilance over every expense can make your profits — and your paycheck — go much further.
6. Limit What You Borrow: Living on credit cards and loans won’t make you rich. Warren Buffett has never borrowed a significant amount — not to invest, not for a mortgage. He has gotten many heart-rendering letters from people who thought their borrowing was manageable but became overwhelmed by debt. His advice: Negotiate with creditors to pay what you can. Then, when you’re debt-free, work on saving some money that you can use to invest.

7. Be Persistent: With tenacity and ingenuity, you can win against a more established competitor. Warren Buffett acquired the Nebraska Furniture Mart in 1983 because he liked the way its founder, Rose Blumkin, did business. A Russian immigrant, she built the mart from a pawnshop into the largest furniture store in North America. Her strategy was to undersell the big shots, and she was a merciless negotiator. To Warren Buffett, Rose embodied the unwavering courage that makes a winner out of an underdog.

8. Know When To Quit: Once, when Warren Buffett was a teen, he went to the racetrack. He bet on a race and lost. To recoup his funds, he bet on another race. He lost again, leaving him with close to nothing. He felt sick — he had squandered nearly a week’s earnings. Warren Buffett never repeated that mistake. Know when to walk away from a loss, and don’t let anxiety fool you into trying again.

9. Assess The Risk: In 1995, the employer of Warren Buffett’s son, Howie, was accused by the FBI of price-fixing. Warren Buffett advised Howie to imagine the worst-and-bast-case scenarios if he stayed with the company. His son quickly realized that the risks of staying far outweighed any potential gains, and he quit the next day. Asking yourself “and then what?” can help you see all of the possible consequences when you’re struggling to make a decision — and can guide you to the smartest choice.

10. Know What Success Really Means: Despite his wealth, Warren Buffett does not measure success by dollars. In 2006, he pledged to give away almost his entire fortune to charities, primarily the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation. He’s adamant about not funding monuments to himself — no Warren Buffett buildings or halls. “I know people who have a lot of money,” he says, “and they get testimonial dinners and hospital wings named after them. But the truth is that nobody in the world loves them. When you get to my age, you’ll measure your success in life by how many of the people you want to have love you actually do love you. That’s the ultimate test of how you’ve lived your life.”

Richest Man In History – Modeling Masters

Richest Man In History – Modeling Masters

SEPTEMBER 16, 2008

He was #3 on the list of Top 25 Visionaries and #14 on the list of 25 Businessmen Who Broke The Rules And Won.
Andrew Carnegie was a Scottish-born American industrialist, businessman, and philanthropist. He built Pittsburgh’s Carnegie Steel Company and merged it with other steel businesses to build an empire. By the 1890s, the company was the largest and most profitable industrial enterprise in the world. Andrew Carnegie is often regarded as the second richest man in history.
What can you learn from his success?
1. Keep a Positive Attitude
“A sunny disposition is worth more than fortune. Young people should know that it can be cultivated; that the mind like the body can be moved from the shade into sunshine. There is little success where there is little laughter. Think of yourself as on the threshold of unparalleled success. A whole, clear, glorious life lies before you. Achieve! Achieve!”
2. Believe In Yourself
“People who are unable to motivate themselves must be content with mediocrity, no matter how impressive their other talents. Immense power is acquired by assuring yourself in your secret reveries that you were born to control affairs. Think of yourself as on the threshold of unparalleled success. A whole, clear, glorious life lies before you. Achieve! Achieve!”
3. Never Compromise
“The ‘morality of compromise’ sounds contradictory. Compromise is usually a sign of weakness, or an admission of defeat. Strong men don’t compromise, it is said, and principles should never be compromised.”
4. Be First
“The first man gets the oyster, the second man gets the shell. Aim for the highest.”
5. Be The Best
And here is the prime condition of success, the great secret: concentrate your energy, thought, and capital exclusively upon the business in which you are engaged. Having begun in one line, resolve to fight it out on that line, to lead in it; adopt every improvement, have the best machinery, and know the most about it. Success can be attained in any branch of human labor. There is always room at the top in every pursuit. Concentrate your energies, your thoughts and your capital…. The wise man puts all his eggs in one basket and watches the basket.

The Greatest Money Secret In History

John Paul Getty's Rules of Success

The 8 rules of success the millionaires have in mind
By Vic Carara
www.empowersU.com

The late J. Paul Getty's rules for accumulating wealth are simple and to the point. In fact, it is so simple that most people who read them either dismiss them as sweeping generalities or falsely believe they have known and used them most of their lives... but these people are probably not rich. So while these guidelines may lack romance or an obvious direction, be assured that they are the genuine article. Apply them as soon and as often as you can, and apply them with intelligence and creativity.

Rule No. 1: To acquire wealth today, you must be in your own business.
You may think that the corporate executive with a $100,000 salary is better off than small shop owner, but the executive will be hard-pressed to double his income and taxes will eat up most of any increase. The simplest peanut vendor has unlimited opportunity to expand his business and his income, and even salesmen, who in most cases are able to write their own paychecks, can control his sale increases himself.

Rule No. 2. You must have a working knowledge of the business when you start and continue to increase your knowledge of it as you go along.
If you don't know what you're doing when you start, your mistakes will be costly and often unnecessary, and you won't be able to keep up with the technological explosions in any field. Start smart and stay that way.

Rule No. 3. You must save money in your personal life and in your business venture as well.
Discipline is the key to saving money. You must develop the will power to deny yourself immediate gratification or the temptation to gamble on the quick buck. Resources will be needed for expansion and should be guarded carefully.

Rule No. 4. You must take risks, both with your own money or with borrowed money.
Risk-taking is essential to business growth. Nelson Bunker Hunt is admired for his guts in trying to corner the silver market, not scorned for losing money on this deal. Some of the richest men have staked their entire fortunes and lost, several times over, before the risk-taking paid off. Back those risks with good judgment, experience, commitment, and the right support. Seek advice on risks from the wealthy who still take risks, not friends who dare nothing more than a football bet.

Rule No. 5. You must not only learn to live with tension, you must seek it out.
Thrive on stress! If it means getting physically fit, having a psychiatric overall or losing 50 pounds before you can handle it, do it. Once you can learn to thrive on stress, you will not only enjoy it, you will seek it out willingly and enthusiastically and wonder how you could live any other way. Men of means look at making money as a game which they love to play. Consider it serious business and you will suffer far more stress than you need or want. Keep your perspective or your stress level will rocket beyond your control.

Rule No. 6. Build wealth as a by-product of your business success.
If wealth is your only object in business, you will probably fail. Wealth is only a benefit of the game. If you win, the money will be there. If you lose, and you will from time to time if you play long and hard enough, it must have been fun or it was not worth it.

Rule No. 7. Patience.
This is the greatest business asset. Wait for the right time to make your moves. Let your business grow naturally, not by pressing your luck.

Rules No. 8. Diversify at the top.
Once you've made it, you'll understand that any business is limited in the challenges it offers. You'll want and need other games to play, so you'll look for other ventures to hold your interest.

Now go for it!

Jim Rohn was called Business Philosopher in America.

Jim Rohn was called " Business Philosopher in America". He influenced thousands of American millionaire through his principle of part time business.

He and Robert Kiyusaki have the same method, it is direct selling through network marketing. Networking is just a system not the means of sale. The bottom line is the PRODUCT. Even how hard you advertise or shout everywhere if the product does not solve specific needs of people you are just wasting your time. At the end it is the sale that matters and for someone to buy it must have given him benefit or value.

So product is the key and networking is just a tool. By networking it means the promotion of the product is by word of mouth and it will only happen if the benefit that the consumer experienced is impressive. So your task is to look for the best product, do not believe on a quick rich scheme that's a lie, after few years you will no longer hear those people talking about their group because they will disappear in the market place.

This is a time of crisis so only the strong companies survive. It means they remained because their mission is right and their product delivered what it claimed, otherwise they are no longer there. If people are using it because they liked it not due to networking then those are sure indication that that company will prosper. That is the company you must be in. Those are important points so consider in this kind of business.

To put up a business is really difficult due many aspects to consider such as your expertise, machinery set up, your brand name, competition, effective man power and many more. To join in direct selling networking business is very easy and there is no capital to lose since your starting expenditure is just the membership that's all, unlike conventional business you must have million of needed capital.

So direct selling networking is a very strategic step as starting point for another business. Once you have saved enough through it then you can put up another business. That is called multiple investments, so direct selling networking is nice. It is here where Jim Rohn and Robert Kiyusaki became rich.

For the main time watch this video, listen how Jim Rohn became rich by what he called part time business.

How a Pollo Victim reached his dream?

How this man a pollo victim rose above his situation? Why most of us are suffering from financial shortages; we can not fix our homes, can not send our children to good schools, forced to do works which sometimes we don't like, WHY?

BLESSED ARE THE POOR MISCONCEPTION
That is poor in spirit at hindi tinutukoy dito ang pulubi.

MONEY IS THE ROOT OF ALL EVIL
Kaya maraming tao are trying to pretend na hindi nila kailangan ang pera kahit naghihirap na kasi daw evil ang pera. Actually ang tamang sentence sa Bible ay “ for the LOVE of money is the root of all evil”. A kind of love which leads to do evil and is capable of rebelling against God.

It does not end there, we must look at the other side of the coin which is good side. Loving God above all, respecting Him as the father and provider of all things, we use all the blessings for our needs and to help others, and give thanks to God for giving us pleasures due to these things. In this way God is glorified which is the very thing God wanted us to do.

Most of us are being hypnotized by false principles which hold as fast to be powerless to move on.Once we are free from all these misconceptions there is no reason why we can’t go high and reach our dreams.

NAWALAN NA BA TAYONG PAG-ASA? of course mayroon laging pag-asa nandayn lang yan.

"Success depends on your personality, not on the economy". . Success is your philosophy, attitude and activity"- By Jim Rohn.

Negosyong Walang Kapital

NEGOSYONG WALANG KAPITAL?

Mga importanting ponto dito ay;

2. Good company, must be a stand alone company na gumagawa ng sariling product hindi umaangkat lang para hindi ma paralyze ang supply.

Deducting Hobby Expenses: Think Business

Robert Pagliarini is obsessed with improvement, making the most of his time and energy, and inspiring others to live life to the fullest by radically changing the way they invest their time and energy. He is the founder of RicherLife.com, a community of passionate people who want to learn and achieve more in life and at work and the co-founder ofThe Band of Brothers Foundation, a non-profit helping kids around the world.

Deducting Hobby Expenses: Think Business

Hobbies are a great way to spend the other 8 hours, but they are terrible from a tax perspective. Why? You are not allowed to deduct hobby expenses for tax purposes. This makes sense. If you could deduct hobby expenses almost everything would be deductible — trips to the zoo, your subscription to Professional Photographer magazine, and even that new digital camera you’ve had your eye on. If it’s a hobby expense, the IRS says NO. But is there a way to legally deduct those expenses and many more? The IRS says YES. Stop thinking hobby and start thinking business…
Hobby expenses are not deductible, but if you can turn your photography hobby into a legitimate business, you can deduct the zoo tickets, magazine subscription, camera, and much more. Let’s take this slow because you don’t want to take deductions for which you do not qualify.

Three rules for deducting expenses:
1.  Expenses must be for a trade or business. Okay, but what makes something a trade or business? The IRS says “an activity qualifies as a business if it is carried on with the reasonable expectation of earning a profit.” The last part is important. There must be a reasonable expectation of earning a profit. That means there must be a good chance you’ll make more money with your venture than you spend. Still not sure if you have a hobby or a business? The IRS suggests you consider these factors:
Does the time and effort put into the activity indicate an intention to make a profit?
Do you depend on income from the activity
If there are losses, are they due to circumstances beyond your control or did they occur in the start-up phase of the business?
Do you have the knowledge needed to carry on the activity as a successful business?
Have you made a profit in similar activities in the past?
Does the activity make a profit in some years?
2.  Expenses must be ordinary for conducting business. This means the expense is common and accepted in your particular trade or business.
3.  Expenses must be necessary for conducting business. A necessary expense is one that is appropriate for the business.
How does this work in the real world? If your passion is photography, why not turn what you love into a business? Could you make money — scratch that — could you make a profit from your passion? Of course you could.
I was at the San Diego Zoo recently and spoke to half a dozen photographers snapping photos around the lion attraction. They all had a few things in common. They loved photography. They were creating something in the other 8 hours. They had other jobs. And they had a side photography business. I didn’t get into their finances — my daughter was more interested in the animals than the going price of a 8 x 10 lion photo — but my guess is that they could all have deducted what they paid to get into the zoo, any photography magazines or journals they subscribe to, and even new cameras and equipment. If they can do it, there’s no reason why you can’t turn your passion into a business and deduct the expenses.
A few disclaimers and words of caution. I am not a CPA. Talk to your professional tax advisor regarding your own situation. Don’t deduct expenses that are not legitimate — the U.S. deficit doesn’t need tax cheats. Keep detailed records. Read more about hobby and business expenses from the IRS. Don’t try to feed the lions.

WHY FILIPINO COMMUNITIES FAIL?

WHY FILIPINO COMMUNITIES FAIL?

When we ask with this question everybody is very quick to point someone else as the cause of failure, others are hanging they do not know what really is the cause of failure.

The first answer to this question is, we fail because we do not operate according to the law of the universe. This law is unity or cooperation to serve.

ILLUSTRATION

First illustration is current. Imagine if the electron has mind and it does not cooperate to the proton then there will be no electrical power can be produced. Good that it does not have mind and it has no way to withdraw its service.

Second illustration is water H2O. To produce water it must have one atom of Hydrogen and two atoms of Oxygen. Good that they do not have mind to withdraw their functions otherwise water might become poisonous if their chemical composition is changed.

WHY OTHER NATIONS PROGRESS?

Did you not notice that progressive countries are good with regards to services? When they serve or make a product they make sure it is quality.
Service is the key factor of unity and togetherness. So, rebelling the law of nature is a sure failure.

THE MIND OF IGNORANCE

Talk to anybody else about joining a group you will always hear this line “bakit ako sasali dyan wala naman akong makukuha dyan” isn’t it the very force which opposes the established law, which is the desire of personal gain or greed which would destroys the whole thing? If majority of people have this kind of thinking in a certain community can there be any progress to be expected?

THE CAUSE OF FAILURE IS YOU AND ME

We can check this by asking the question “What have I done for the progress of my community?” How much effort did I gave for my community? If the answer is nothing then the cause of failure is you and me.

WHAT IS YOUR TALENT AND SKILLS?

Everyone has peculiar talent and skill, your ability is especially for you only. How about sharing that skill just a little amount of it so that you’re your community can enjoy with you? Are you not happy to think about that? If you do that we can operate according to the law of the universe and we can see progress.  "PILIPINO, ANGAT KA".

FRUIT OF PROSPERITY

THE ROOT OF A TREE IS THE CAUSE WHY A TREE BEARS GOOD FRUITS. - Harv T. Eker

Similarly what happens to a person is the result of what's happening in his internal being;

       ROOT  =  FRUIT

OR  ( Mental + Emotional + Spiritual ) =  Physical

MEANING;

A person's prosperity or if he is being broke depends on his;

A.  Mental Principle
B.  Emotional Principle
C. Spiritual ( or religious ) principle

This is self explanatory, you can expound it in your own way.

If we have right view of God, attitude and perspective in life, we can be prosperous inspite of difficulties. Prosperous does mean money as wrongly thought about, instead it is a capability of being in control to the many challenges in life, or having more power to defeat the problems, which makes one a winner most of the time otherwise called of being successful.

Some say "I'd rather have values than being prosperous" which wrong since values is a factor of being successful. Values is the rudder where one is able to glide along the difficulties reaching the reward beyond the ugliness of the circumstance.

What happen to you now? What do you want to be?  It all depends on how you make things right in your mind and all that are going on inside you.
